After 8 months of exciting course work, Omega Global students travelled to China for 3 weeks! Activities were organized in preparation for the 2008 Olympic games.

The team arrived in Hong Kong and travelled throughout Southern China visiting numerous urban and rural locations.

Activities included working with children of need in both urban and rural settings. This included sports and children's English programming.

The Omega team was exposed to a variety of situations in different Chinese cultural contexts. They helped underprivileged children and their families as well as university students eager to converse and learn English from Canadian students. The team worked along side local and foreign workers and experienced first hand the thrills and challenges of working in a different cultural and political context.

Activities included:

  • University campus classes and presentations
  • Inner city children's' activities and presentations
  • Presentations and English lessons
    to village school children
  • Prayer walks
